Developed by Enbridge Consumers Gas, the Utilicor Rotary Cutter is the front-end component of the keyhole technology process that offers a cost-effective and reliable alternative to conventional pavement cuts.

The process includes a robust, truck mounted coring unit or skid steer mounted attachment - Minicor - that quickly and accurately cores up to an 18" diameter hole up to 22 deep through asphalt, asphalt-concrete and reinforced concrete road systems and sidewalks. Vacuum excavation systems are used to excavate down to buried plant and routine service or maintenance is performed from road level using specialized long-handled tools.

Utilicoring™ eliminates the need for jackhammers and backhoes, is physically less demanding on work crews, and reduces the cost of these conventional operations by up to 50%. Because the original core, or coupon, is reinserted after the repair, the pavement restoration costs are limited to the labour and materials necessary to reinstate the core permanently - less than $100. No temporary patching or repaving is required.

This process results in a permanent repair with cost savings up to 60% or more over current excavation and restoration practices

Utilibond™ is the only specially formulated and engineered bonding compound designed to be used for permanently reinstating pavement cores in asphalt and concrete roads, sidewalks and other paved surfaces.

A ready-to-use (just add water), fast-setting, high-strength waterproof bonding agent, Utilibond™ is non-toxic and comes in two colors (Aged Asphalt and Natural Concrete), with a full and final set time in just 30 minutes.
