Toronto MicroElectronics Inc. (TME) is an industrial computerdesign and manufacturing company, located in Toronto, Ontario,
Canada. The company is involved in custom product design, as wellas design and manufacturing of ISA, EISA and PCI basedpassive-backplane industrial single board computers.
TME is an independent, privately held corporation, and is ownermanaged. It was established in 1986 and incorporated in 1988. Thecompany began business in 1986. Products designed by TME include
Automatic Remote Tracking Systems, RF Remote Security Systems,
and Industrial Single Board Computers. The company currentlydesigns and manufactures their own line of passive-backplanebased industrial PC products, including ISA 386SX, 486DX2-66,
486DX4-100 EISA 486SX, EISA 486DX, ISA/PCI 486DX/DX4, ISA/PCI
Pentium (tm). All TME products are designed in-house by TME, andare manufactured under TME supervision in North America.
Manufacturing of the product is supervised by TME at asubcontractor facility in Toronto, Canada.
TME leads the Industrial Single Board Computer market by beingthe first to market with products such as 386SX product withintegral FLASH Solid State Drive, 486 ISA Board with SCSI-2, and
Pentium PCI with and integrated SVGA CRT/Flat panel Interfaceusing the Intel Triton Chip set. More recently TME has producedmuch smaller and more embeddable CPU cards for the purposes ofembedding in space critical applications.
TME products are in use around the world in such applications asflight simulators, medicaltest equipment, data acquisition systems, shop floor control,
ruggedized military systems, high-end portable workstations. andtelecommunications switching equipment to name a few. TME specializes in sales to OEM customers. TME supports OEM
requirements with custom designs, custom modifications tostandard products, detailed engineering co-operation and OEM
level quality control procedures.
The marketing of TME products is through a network of
Distributors, Manufacturers Representatives and direct sales toend-users, integrators, OEM's and large corporations. Aggressiveproduct promotion has included participation in trade shows suchas COMDEX Fall, CeBit and the Real Time shows.
