The two founding partners - Darrell Toma and Jerry Bouma, each bring nearly 30 years of experience as professional management consultants specializing in the agri-food, manufacturing, technology and service sectors. We have developed a boutique consulting business to serve clients in the public and private sectors and we work with senior management and staff to accomplish their goals. Our work regularly has us engaged at the forefront of the issues and challenges facing the various sectors including agriculture and food, economic development, applied research, technology and manufacturing. We also work with people to evaluate their projects, programs and strategies and make corrections. Toma & Bouma were instrumental in developing provincial strategies in value added approaches as a key competitive response in several resource industries and have helped develop a number of novel approaches in supply chains, innovation networks and clusters, industry alliances and many new product and market developments. We have extensive experience in this area and often work with the leading experts in Canada, the Netherlands, United Kingdom and the USA. We are members of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce, Northlands, several Institutes and other professional organizations. This provides clients with assurance in dealing with proven and experienced professionals. We originally were consultants in a major international accounting and management consulting firm in the Edmonton and Guelph offices and have developed a specialized professional practice in Edmonton (since 1991).
