Description

Connie is of Ojibway, French and Irish decent. While growing up in northern Ontario she was greatly influenced by her native roots. Connie has been involved for over 30 years with Aboriginal community programs and native women's issues. She has had a keen interest in the arts from an early age and likes to paint on various mediums such as canvas, birch bark and leather. Connie is also a singer, musician and owner of The Silver Moccasin.

My sister Linda and I set up a vending booth at the Northern College Powwow in Timmins in April of 2009. It was so great to see all the drummers and dancers from around the north! It was also a great weekend for sales and meeting new people. We received a lot of attention with our unique products and handmade crafts that are not always easy to find.

Our products include authentic Canadian made native arts and crafts, novelty gifts and souvenirs. Our specialty is moccasins made in Canada by Aboriginal owned companies as well as locally made moccasins. Great care is taken to ensure all products meet our standards of quality that in turn allows you the customer, complete satisfaction with your purchases.

The Silver Moccasin name reflects the town of Cobalt's historic silver mining camp theme and is also located on Silver Street. The Moccasin represents the native culture and our specialty product.
