Founded in June 2003 by brothers Andrew and Anthony, Terapeak was one of the first firms to recognize the power of market research for eBay Sellers. The idea for the company sprang from their interest in knowing more about how subtle variations affected their own eBay auctions. As they began to explore, they started asking deeper questions about fluctuations in the eBay marketplace and how the entire eBay economy operated.The brothers discovered that they weren't the only eBay sellers craving knowledge about the eBay market. Combining Andrew's expertise in database management and software development with Anthony's extensive knowledge and experience in economic theory, they produced a prototype for an eBay research tool and approached eBay.eBay was thrilled with the idea, and has supported Terapeak in everything they have done to improve the eBay community through research. In September 2005, Terapeak's research excellence was recognized by eBay as Terapeak signed a multi-year data license for all 33 of eBay's top-level categories.In June 2007 Terapeak launched free research to help sellers know when to sell, price their items for success, and improve their profits online.Terapeak removes the time it takes to do eBay closed listing research.
