Daimler Trucks North America LLC has announced it will soon be offering Virtual Technician (SM) (VT), the trucking industry’s first real-time remote diagnostic system, as standard equipment on 2011 Model Year Freightliner and Western Star trucks with Detroit Diesel engines equipped with BlueTec® emissions systems. Virtual Technician is an exclusive and proprietary program offered by DTNA. The new VT program offers real-time vehicle system analysis through remote telemetric vehicle tracking systems.

During panel discussions held at the Great American Truck Show in Dallas, Detroit Diesel Corporation announced its BlueTec(r) emissions technology completed 25 million miles of testing ahead of schedule. By its rollout on January 1, 2010, the Detroit Diesel BlueTec technology will surpass 28 million miles of testing, making it one of the most proven and tested emissions reduction technologies ever.

Detroit Diesel Corporation has announced it will offer a new warranty system that will allow customers to pick the extended service coverage (ESC) package that best suits their specific business needs.
