The company has remained family owned and operated throughout its growth and is currently under the management of a second generation with Michael Horvatin , Production Manager; and Tony Horvatin , Technical Manager. Today Sun Polishing and Plating Co. Ltd. employs 20 dedicated and experienced team members who are well trained, motivated and successful in their tasks and this fact is proven by the very high level of our customers’ satisfaction in both our product quality and on-time delivery performance.

Founded in 1959 by Mark Horvatin as Sun Polishing and Buffing Company, the operation soon grew to include metal plating services to satisfy the demands of lighting, furniture and store fixture manufacturers in the Toronto area. The company moved its operations to the current location at 30 Nashville Avenue in 1968 and further expanded its capabilities in 1974 with the construction of a modern, environmentally responsible processing facility.

At Sun, we are family owned and operated since 1959 and we pride ourselves in our dedicated response and attention-to-detail in serving our customers' needs. We are a custom finishing shop and are well equipped to handle a wide variety of parts from restorations to industrial sized lots.

All are available finished as Bright Polished or Brushed Satin, with a topcoat of gloss or satin lacquered as required. In addition, we offer many variations on these metal finishes with antiquing processes which achieve a wide palette of colours ranging from a light gold, through bronzes to a deep black, in either matte or bright. We can also custom design a process to meet your specific need.

Sun offers a full line of pre-plate belting, brushing and polishing as well as post-plate relieving and buffing including straight line finishing. Finishing of aluminum and top coating with clear lacquer is a specialty. At Sun we realize the importance of the base material’s condition prior to plating and we ensure that our customers’ parts will be properly treated.
