Methodology/Implementation Process:
Step 1: Creating the Environment
What we do: Create trust in paired relationships, how to move to win/win, build teamwork and collaboration between team members through "The Will to Win", a one/two-day experiential program.
Why we do it: To create a culture of trust, teamwork and collaboration in the team culture. It develops effective interpersonal communication, teamwork and empowerment. The program shifts attitudes and sustains new behaviors.
How we support it: The participants are supported with a follow-
up session thirty days after the experience, to reinforce their experiences and discuss any difficulties. These difficulties are shared with management, to provide an opportunity to work with and eliminate any roadblocks for successful change.
Management is coached and encouraged to assist in the process of implementing the new behaviors and skills into departmental practices, to meet their objectives.
Step 2: Developing Team-Based Organizations
What we do: Train the participants in team-based skills, team management skills and problem solving & decision making processes that allow them to identify, analyze and generate effective solutions. We encourage clients to bring live’ problems to the event. These programs are: 8-D Problem Solving
(2-day) and TIPS: Team Implementation and Problem Solving (1-
Day).
Why we do it: To lead a team to success, allowing them to communicate effectively and manage ongoing change. Execute effective team management techniques and support the problem solving process. Implement solutions and corrective actions to problems and prevent recurrence. Prepare the participants to manage any cultural change such as the Kaizen Rapid Improvement
Process.
How we support it: Solutions Plus provides the team with a "911 concept", that allows team members to contact our organization for clarification of tools use, roadblock analysis and a sounding board. In addition, Solutions Plus has the ability to set up and train an in-house facilitator in the use of our team-
tracking database, enabling the client to know who is working on what and generate historical activity and financial reports.
Step 3. Achieving Continuous Improvement
What we do: Utilizing our Lean Manufacturing Programs, such as
Kaizen & Six Sigma etc., we educate and lead the team through world-class training & development and target projects focused on continuous improvement, waste/scrap reduction, economic & productivity improvement, etc.
Why we do it: To engage Process Improvement, developing an understanding of the Lean approach, skills in the application of
Lean Manufacturing Techniques and Rapid Improvement achievements; To gain hands-on experience in identifying waste and help motivate employees to participate in and not fear, future change.
How we support it: The education and hands-on event is conducted in a Train-the-Trainer’ format to allow the client to become self sufficient in the practice of continuous improvement concepts. Additional support is provided before the Kaizen
Rapid Improvement event, in the form of problem identification and plan of attack methodology, to meet client’s strategic goals. Sustaining the gains after the event is a paramount consideration. Building in the systems and controls during a review process is used to ensure the gains from implemented improvements are being measured, consolidated and reported. The improvement process itself has to be managed, controlled and improved.
