Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill Services & Results SERVICES PROVIDED • Car-pool site ( www.carpoolzone.ca ) facilitates ride matching with other commuters - eligible to use High Occupancy Vehicle Lanes (HOV) • Transit promotions • Employee commuter surveys • Employer shuttles • Telework policies • Flexible Work/Compressed Work Week policies • Parking management solutions • Preferred car-pool parking - shows leadership • Cycling/walking events/facilities • Facilitating on-site facilities - showers, lockers, bike racks i.e.showers/lockers • On site lunch & learns ACHIEVEMENTS & SUCCESSES • Directly marketed to 1,800 Markham Board of Trade & Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce businesses – representing approx. 42,000 employees • 100 businesses now engaged in the program (i.e.: IBM, CAA, HSBC, Markham Stouffville Hospital, AMD, TD Commercial Banking, BMO Bank of Montreal, Staples Business Depot, Signature Aluminum Canada) – Representing 25,000 employees. • 20 company employee commuter habits surveys completed (2000 employees) - requiring compilation and summarization of surveys, using staff resources.
