Security Imaging Terahertz Scanners (TS) could be used for applications in security imaging systems . including the detection of concealed weapons in an active or passive manner. The important feature of THz radiation is that clothing, unlike weapons and explosive materials, is transparent to such wavelengths. This leads to natural applications in the development of security control scanners that would not require individuals to be exposed to potentially harmful x-rays. In addition, the THz spectra of explosives and poisons contain specific spectral lines that can be detected from air probing in defended areas and objects. Enlarge Medical Imaging Medical imaging is one of the fastest growing fields in medicine. The development of innovative new imaging modalities, contrast agents, molecular probes and radiopharmaceuticals has significantly improved our ability to study biological structures and functions in health and disease, and continues to contribute to the evolution of medical care. In addition to routine X-rays, the most common imaging techniques in current clinical practice are: computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound (US), and single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). CT and MRI scanners, ultrasound units and gamma cameras are now an essential part of clinical practice. Terahertz imaging systems has great potential completely replace some of these imaging techniques. Mobile scanner with superconducting Terahertz nanosensor could be used for skin-cancer screening, tooth-cavity detection and brain imaging. They are able to provide MRI-like images with a notebook size device. In the future Terahertz imaging systems will be used for a highly diverse range of purposes, from battlefield imaging to the remote measurements of ozone and atmospheric pollutants.
