Sigma's Seismic Survey department has been conducting joint venture and participation surveys for over 20 years.

Sigma is an industry leader in providing superior geotechnical data services and technical solutions to the oil and gas industry.

Sigma was founded in 1966 by Wes Rabey. Wes started his career with Imperial Oil in 1945 and was a member of the crew that shot the first line of seismic over the Leduc field. He was also instrumental in the discovery of the Redwater field. Wes founded Accurate Geophysical in 1950 and shot the first participation survey in the history of the geophysical industry. After founding Sigma, he shot participation surveys and then developed the concept of brokering seismic data which represented the birth of our seismic brokerage industry.
