We have grown significantly from our original one-plant operation in 1966 when the Shaw Group Limited purchased Nova Scotia Sand & Gravel. Today, we operate six manufacturing and processing plants. We continue to search for growth initiatives and welcome new product and business ideas.

Shaw Resources is a major supplier of commercial and industrial aggregates. Our products range from concrete sands, to roofing and septic stones. We supply a multitude of products to industries as diverse as mining, construction, and farming.

We stock a variety of standard media sizes, or will work closely with you to develop a product that meets your specific needs. Shaw also offers a full range of anthracite for one-stop shopping.

Shaw is a major producer of quality washed, natural concrete sand, with two plants supplying the eastern Canadian Marketplace. A 5mm minus washed and tightly graded sand used in conjunction with Portland cement and coarse aggregate in the manufacture of high quality concrete mixes. Shaw Resources' concrete sand meets or exceeds the CSA Standard A23.1-04 and the standard specification of the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Public Works for product quality. Other concrete sand applications include pipe bedding, traction sand, block sand, and general purpose sand.
