The thinking behind the company has been very simple: we develop and promote talent, we create increasingly sophisticated platforms to showcase that talent for the benefit of our audience, and we use our skills as a theatre organization to help make our community a better place to live. Our members don’t just entertain and educate our community, they are part of the community in which we live and work.

"In 1990 a group of dedicated individuals got together to form a company with one simple idea in mind: Saint John is a great city and, like every other great city, it deserves a great theatre company. A company that has developed from the ground up in response to tremendous community input over the years. A community-based semi-professional company built on the basic premise that “Community” refers to the community that makes up our audience as well as the incredible community of theatre practitioners that has evolved in Southern NB over the past 20 years.
