With over 46 years of history, Sackville Trenching Limited has a reputation as a construction leader that meets and or exceeds client expectations in every area. We educate our work force on an ongoing basis by providing them with safety awareness information and equipment to complete their jobs safely.

Harold Wentzell, a Stewiacke native, joined Sackville Trenching as labourer in 1979, starting out on a part time basis while attending school; he quickly grew into an operator. With Ronald managing the day to day operations and getting the jobs, David took control of managing the income and Harold oversaw the jobs on site and got them done. The company gained a wealth of experience in the water and sewer lateral repairs, quickly becoming the contractor of choice in the entire Halifax Regional Municipality (after amalgamation).

With Harold’s ambitions for the company set high, and Cathy’s attention to detail, Harold and Cathy worked together and continued in the pursuit of more opportunities and opening doors with the Halifax Regional Municipality as one of the top companies providing the city with road renewals, lateral repairs, and street reconstructions, all while continuing to provide residential home owners with the top quality work they have come to know. Sackville Trenching quickly grew into a well-known, trusted business in the construction industry.

Sackville Trenching is a seasonal company, our high season is April- December. Within these months we do have opportunities in many differant aspects of our company.
