SPOC stands for Sex Professionals of Canada. We were originally known as The Canadian Organizaion for the rights of Prostitutes. Our organization was founded in 1983 and our entire raison detre is to get the federal government to decriminalize sex work.

SPOC has someone with experience in filing taxes for sex workers. Garth is sex worker positive and gentlemanly. He is not an 'official' tax preparer, which means he can prepare your forms, but you have to sign them. Our colleagues have always been very pleased with the results of his services.

“Ultimately, this fight is destined to go all the way to the Supreme Court,” notes Young. He says modest funding from legal aid will run out quickly. The case is supported by several lawyers and law student volunteers who are providing their services pro bono.
