History R & G Eastern Roofing Ltd is a successful joining of two roofing families. Eastern Roofing Ottawa Ltd. was founded in 1966 by brothers Philippe and Georges Giguere. George’s son Marcel joined the company in 1982 following Philippe’s passing. When George retired in 2000, Marcel took over the role as president. Ernest Gauthier began roofing in early 1973 while employed with Eastern Roofing Ottawa Ltd. He left temporarily in 1980 to work with a competitor M & AL Roofing. Then in 1992, to realize his entrepreneurial goals Ernest formed his own company named R & G Roofing.

Roofing Types To satisfy the particular requirements for your roofing project, R & G Eastern Roofing offers all types of roofing including: Tar & Gravel – a traditional ‘flat roof’ system that consists of 5 layers of asphalt felt which is adhered to in hot asphalt. Topped with 3/8 gravel that is embedded again in hot asphalt. Modified Bitumen – also known as ‘torch-on’ consists of 1 layer of modified bitumen base sheet and a granular cap sheet that is torch-fused to the base sheet. This can also be provided in a peel-n-stick format, which does not require a flame or weld.
