NU-EAR Electronics was founded in 1978 by two entrepreneurial businessmen who previously spent many years in the retail side of the industry. They placed a high value on training and support to the early network of NU-EAR authorized professionals. In 1989, NU-EAR was purchased by Starkey Laboratories, one of the worlds largest manufacturer of hearing instruments. At NU-EAR, we allocate a large portion of our marketing budget to the continued training, education and aftermarket support of our qualified NU-EAR hearing professionals.

Starkey Laboratories got its start in 1967 when William Austin founded Professional Hearing Aid Service, an all-make hearing instrument repair service in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. After setting new standards for the way repairs were handled, Austin acquired Starkey Laboratories, a small earmold company, in 1971. With a mission to provide better hearing rather than just hearing aids, Austin merged the two businesses under the Starkey name, and eventually began making custom in-the-ear hearing aids with a then-revolutionary no-obligation trial and "worry-free" warranty.

Cole Crouse ~ (BA HIS) Hearing Instrument Specialist and Clinical Manager has been employed at Provincial Hearing Services since 2004. He is very familiar with the business, being the son of Annette. In 2004 he decided that he would like to work in the same industry and help people hear better. So he has obtained his Hearing Instrument Specialist qualifications, and has been fully licensed now for over 4 years. Cole is the Clinical Manager for all four locations and has been a part of the Provincial Hearing Aid team in all offices as well.
