Our plant is located in Central Manitoba along Trans Canada Highway #1 approximately 7 miles east of MacGregor in the heart of the flax growing area. Our goal is to supply the very best quality products available to our customers while retaining the "value added" activity in the region where the flax is grown.
Prairie Flax Products Inc. was created in January of 1999 to fill the need for a commercial scale supplier of milled flaxseed for human food as well as animal feed. With financial support from Manitoba's Ensis Growth Fund and other private investors the business began with the purchase of an existing facility which could be renovated and re-equipped to produce our products. This renovation work was completed by early fall of 1999 with production beginning in September of that year when Prairie Premium Milled Flaxseed first became available to the Health Products and Animal feed industries.
