Established in 1970, Positron Inc. is a holding and operating company that develops and manufactures telecommunications equipment for high reliability, critical service applications including communications protection for high voltage environments and SONET fiber optic transmission equipment. Positron invests 16% of revenues into research and development. Over the last 38 years the company has built a reputation for delivering superior technology, reliability and value.

With headquarters in Montreal and offices throughout North America, Positron's global footprint extends from the United States and Canada through Europe, Africa, Latin America, Australia, Asia and the South Pacific.

The company is a recipient of the Canada Export Award and has received awards for leadership in developing new technologies from the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), as well as the Award of Excellence from the City of Montreal.

Positron Access Solutions has two divisions, Positron Power and Positron Transport
Positron Power Division
Positron engineers and manufactures high voltage isolation products to protect telecommunications circuits entering substations, power generating plants, and any high voltage area that is susceptible to the effects of Ground Potential Rise (GPR). In the last 38 years, Positron has been the market leader in providing high quality, reliable wireline isolation equipment that meets the highest industry standards. Worldwide, there are more Positron isolator circuits deployed than any other vendor. With the availability of the TeleLite product line (a fiber optics based isolation/protection solution), Positron became the first and only equipment vendor in the market to offer a complete line of copper (Teleline) and fiber based (TeleLite) high-voltage isolation/protection solutions.

Positron Transport Division
Positron Access manufactures and services the OSIRIS multi-service platform (MSP), an integrated access solution for the rapidly expanding synchronous optical network (SONET) broadband markets. OSIRIS delivers a simple-to-deploy solution for multi-service traffic such as data, voice, and video with the full robustness and availability of SONET-based fiber optic rings for the most demanding carrier applications. With over 25,000 nodes deployed worldwide, OSIRIS has a demonstrated track record of reliability and ease-of-use throughout the world.

Positron Telecommunications Systems Inc (PTS) develops and markets sophisticated VoIP equipment for enterprise communication and collaboration through communication service providers. The company’s products integrate VoIP and traditional telephony in stand-alone systems that combine ease of use with powerful functionality.

Positron Telecommunication’s VoIP devices connect analog devices (telephone, fax, modem) to an IP-Network, gateways connect PSTN users to an IP Network or analog PBX, as well as Key Systems to an IP-Network.

PTS’s VoIP devices provide an ideal platform to launch converged voice and data services, support SIP Proxy’s, integrate to Microsoft OCS through a combined Mediation server / PBX and provide sophisticated visibility into the PBX attributes through a detailed operator panel.
Additionally, PTS also develops and markets communication platforms for the network test and measurement market. Specializing in high speed, low latency applications that are used to test Triple Play and VoIP networks, the product line offers scalable performance solutions.

PTS’s network test and measurement platforms offer performance endpoints for enterprise testing, typically up to 25 Mbps sustained multi-traffic throughput with zero latency and 94Mbps TCP throughput. Our Telco grade solution offers throughput typically up to 100 Mbps sustained multi-traffic throughput with zero latency and 900 Mbps TCP throughputs. The Telco platform also offers greater flexibility with multiple interfaces options including Gigabyte copper, Gigabyte fiber and PCI expansion for optional 3rd party board integration such as E1/T1 and OC-3.
