I have worked with children, youth and families, providing counselling services to them, for over 25 years. My clients have been from a variety of cultural backgrounds and I have worked extensively with First Nation children and their families through community schools, here in Saskatoon. I specialize in working with troubled children, youth and their parents. In particular, my work has centered around the areas of divorce and separation, anxiety, depression, anger management, grief and parenting skills. The approach I use is primarily Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Narrative Therapy.

I have been working in the area of personal and professional development for over 20 years as a counselor, consultant and coach. Although my areas of focus have expanded and evolved over the years, I am committed to the philosophy that people are capable of change and that opportunity for something better is always available if it is sought. I have experience in many settings including private practice, inpatient treatment, government agencies and First Nation Communities. I work primarily with adults and am happy to facilitate services for individuals, couples or groups.

I have been working in the human service field with a wide range of clientele over the past seven years. I have experience working with individuals and families of all different ages and especially enjoy working with adolescents. I have supported individuals who have experienced various stresses and mental health issues including; family violence, depression, anxiety, abuse, grief and loss, addiction, and parenting. I believe most people can benefit at one time or another from the support and guidance of a counselling relationship.

David has over 40 years of experience providing support to individuals, couples and families. He came to PPC in Fall 2012 after being with the Saskatoon Health Region for 15 years supporting patients and their families who are facing traumatic health issues. He began working with youth at risk at Kilburn Hall, which widened to include families in conflict as a result of divorce and separation through the Unified Family Court. His career then turned to prevention work, where he offered parenting counsel for families determined to prevent conflict.

I have been counselling youth, individuals, families, couples and groups for over 20 years. Though much of my counselling has involved power imbalances, violence and grief work, my focus over time has shifted towards conflict resolution, healthy relationships and supporting people as they come into their own power. As I see people grow more into their own potential and honor their feelings, I see exciting changes. This is what excites me about being a therapist.
