As the Rehab and Recreation Manager, Julie oversees the Rehab department working with staff, residents, families and the rehab staff to develop personalized goal centered exercise programs to improve and maintain resident independence. Julie also works within the Recreation department to provide a variety of recreation programs. Park Lane Terrace's Dementia Care Team consists of staff members from all department. We believe in a multidisciplinary approach when caring for those with dementia. Some staff have been educated in the Gentle Persuasive Approach, U-First, P.I.E.C.E.S., Montessori techniques, and the Best Friends Approach. Our team liaises with the Brant Psychogeriatric Outreach Team as well as the Alzheimer Society for educational opportunities and to assist with care issues when needed. The team serves as a resource to all front line staff in the management of behaviours related to dementia and to provide a better understanding of dementia to staff, residents and their families.

To ensure that the Residents receive the care they need while maintaining their dignity and comfort. To address the issues, concerns and grievances of the Residents and their families and pass these concerns on to the appropriate management level. To support families and friends of Residents regarding the rights and needs of the Residents, if needed. To work with families and friends, staff and management to provide the best caring environment possible. To provide forums to educate families, friends, staff, management and government regarding the needs and concerns of the Residents.

New to Park Lane Terrace in October 2010 Joe Anne brings over twenty years of experience in caring for seniors in the Brantford and Brant County area. She also enjoyed spending time teaching the post graduate dementia studies program at Mohawk College and has enjoyed guest speaking at a variety of venues on dementia care.
