About
Opera Atelier is Toronto’s premier period opera and ballet company, dedicated to historically-informed productions that integrate equity, diversity, and inclusion. It performs works from Monteverdi to Mozart and later composers, commissions new music for period instruments, and collaborates with Tafelmusik. The company emphasizes deep understanding of original composer intentions, creating fresh period productions rather than museum pieces, and offers education and outreach programs.
