Northwest VoIP was founded in 2005 to by Mike Fraser Technology Consultants to fulfill a growing need for business class VoIP solutions. Mike Fraser Technology Consultants at the time was a boutique IT consulting firm servicing the needs of small to mid sized businesses across western Canada and abroad. Several MFTC clients at the beginning of 2004 started to investigate the power and flexibility of VoIP systems. They asked MFTC consultants to begin a search for viable vendors.

Much to the surprise of MFTC staff in 2004 business class VoIP providers where rare and the ones that did exist where cost prohibitive. About the same time a revolutionary set of open standards based software packages where entering the market and enjoying rapid uptake amongst consumers and service providers. Engineers at MFTC had been exploring these new offerings and with the strong interest from clients began to formulate a test platform on which to provide service.

Northwest Voip is a privately held company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Our location offers us the best North American connectivity on the pacific rim, as well as a stable political and financial environment. We currently also boast points of presence in Edmonton and Montreal.
