Our Epoxy base coat has100% solids and our polyaspartic topcoat has 100% solids. More solids means less solvents. This means that our dry mil rate will be thicker than a similarly applied product with lower solids content. It also means that less solvent is flashing off into the atmosphere. Use this test to model the amount of moisture that emits from 1,000 square feet of slab surface in 24 hours. The result is expressed in pounds which is the equivalent weight of water, emitted as vapor, over 1,000 square feet in 24 hours. Use this result to compare to the manufacturere's specifications for floor covering or coating tolerances. Always reference a copy of the manufacturer's specifications when reporting results using this test.

Perform one alkalinity test for every calcium chloride test. Place a quarter-sized amount of the pre-packaged test solution on concrete surface. Let solution stand for sixty seconds and then place pH paper into water and let stand for five seconds. Remove pH paper and immediately compare to color chart. Chart included in kit. Record pH test results on the corresponding calcium chloride dish. High pH refers to High alkaline soil salts penetrating trough the slab. Check with manufactures specifications if you are treating or coating the concrete that it is compatible with high pH above 9.
