Metro Pet Crematory opened in June of 2006 in Burnside, Dartmouth and was established with the pet owner in mind. Our goal was, and is currently to bring the same level of services expected in the human aftercare industry to pet owners. We provide the most thoughtful and professional cremation services available to pet owners in the Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Sackville and surrounding area. In 2011 we made the move to build a new facility and are now located in Upper Sackville. Our company Incorporated in 2012. All services provided by our company are performed onsite.

As a pet health care provider, your clients place their pet's health and well being in your hands. When it comes to end of life decisions, your clients turn to you to provide them with the most sound and professional service options. Your clients should not have to wait weeks to receive their pet's cremation remains which is the standard practice for other local pet cremation providers. Your clients should also be provided the option of receiving their pet back in the highest quality pet urn, with a selection that best meets their needs.

Yes. However, it is very important that you do your homework. Our company takes pride in partnering with many HRM veterinary hospitals. We have taken the time to educate staff about our operation. Some veterinary hospitals, while working with a particular cremation provider, have never seen their provider's facility. If your veterinary provider does not use our company, we strongly encourage you to ask your vet more about the company they use. Find out the operator's policy.

We provide our services at an extremely competitive rate. If another company is charging less for "Private Cremation / Individual" services you should seriously consider what you're actually paying for. There is currently industry debate on the term Private vs. Individual Cremation. Since forming in 2006 our company has used the term Individual Cremation to mean one pet being cremated at a time. We now use the term Private Cremation.
