PATENTED MERTEX METHODS

A unique patented process (patent numbers 1,295,104 Can. and
4,738,735 US) designed especially for the manufacturing of thefire hose was developed exclusively by Mercedes Textiles Ltd.
This process uses a lining material in a molten state which isthen introduced into the fabric jacket as it is being woven atthe loom. No adhesives, glues or other bonding agents are usedin the process. With this method, a smoother waterway isproduced, yielding greater water flow at the discharge end.

PATENTED HYDRO-WICK PROCESS

Special problems require special solutions and Mercedes Textilesis particularly innovative in creating practical solutions todifficult problems. When the Forest Services of North Americaneeded a more finely controlled weeping (self-protecting) hose than the previous technology could provide, Mercedes Textiles
Ltd. created this clever yet simple design (patent number
5,500,262 US) + 5,676,783 wherein carefully spaced yarns were exposed into the waterway.

Through capillary action, a controlled amount of water is allowedto wick through the yarn and quickly soak the jacket thoroughly.
This action produces a wetted outer surface without reducing flowor creating additional turbulence. When the jack is fully wet,
the capillary action automatically stabilizes.

PATENTED MERLUG FORESTRY COUPLINGS

Mercedes Textiles Ltd. not only manufacturers fire hose but alsohas responded once again to the needs of its customers. The demand for an improved forestry hose coupling has led the companyinto the manufacturing of quarter-turn threadless couplings andadapters with extended lugs for quick simple, disconnect. (CCAD)
