Description

Founded in 1992, our company is Canada's largest publisher of specialized employment information. Mediacorp Canada Inc. operates four well-known business units:

(1) We manage the annual Canada's Top 100 Employers competition, a large editorial project that is announced each fall. In addition to our national competition, we manage 18 regional and special interest "top employer" competitions with 22 large magazine and newspaper partners. Employers complete a single application to be considered for all competitions. Each competition is editorially based and we publish our Reasons for Selection, explaining why each employer was selected, online at CanadasTop100.com.

(2) Each spring, we host a large, policy-oriented conference called the Top Employer Summit, which focuses on issues related to the Canada's Top 100 Employers project. The conference is Canada's largest annual event for senior-level human resources professionals, who have an opportunity to meet the organizers of the Canada's Top 100 Employers competition and hear world-class speakers in a non-commercial format. Previous speakers at the sold-out event include: Al Gore, Muhammad Yunus, Robert Kennedy Jr., Stephen Lewis, Joe Clark, Bob Rae, Dick Pound and Peter Mansbridge. (3) We are also the developer and operator of Eluta.ca, the nation's fastest-growing search engine for new jobs in Canada. Eluta.ca monitors recruitment at over 70,000 employers across Canada, making each employers' new job postings instantly searchable. Eluta.ca indexes full-time, career-level jobs found directly on employers' websites. Eluta's search results also include valuable editorial information on employer perks and benefits drawn from the annual Canada's Top 100 Employers competition. In January 2009, Eluta.ca had more than 560,000 unique visitors according to comScore Inc.

(4) We also publish specialized guides and directories in the human resources and employment field, including: Canada Employment Weekly (new jobs); Canada's Top 100 Employers (see above); The Career Directory (entry-level employers); Who's Hiring (fast-growing employers); Canadian Directory of Search Firms (headhunters); and the American Employer Digest (10,000 most-admired US employers). Our directories are published exclusively in electronic format.
