Description
MMP Architects continues to provide strong leadership in healthcare projects. This comes with a heavy investment in research to elevate our understanding between the connection of caregiver and receiver. We believe that with a better knowledge of what the medical process involves, we can make better informed decisions, and in turn, create healthier environments for our patients and residents in long term care facilities.
The partnership between Herbert Moody and Robert Moore, which became known as Moody Moore Architects – and later, MMP Architects – began in 1936. Herbert Moody was an extremely talented designer who pushed the envelope of modern architecture at the time. The firm’s modern outlook was cemented in a project that same year when, Moody and Moore were given the opportunity to design a new Hudson’s Bay Store in Edmonton on the site of the previous (1893 and 1912) stores.
Key aspects of the design include full landscape works, a commercial kitchen capable of providing meal services three times a day and two multipurpose rooms. In addition each wing includes a solarium space and exterior patios for residents.
In 1936, Herbert Moody and Robert Moore formed an architectural practice that saw their reputations quickly grow as talented young designers, attracting the likes of the Hudson’s Bay Company early in their careers. Today, the firm’s portfolio reflects this incredibly rich heritage, and continues to push the envelope of contemporary design. Now in its 5th generation of leadership by architects Robert Wrublowsky and Christopher Daly, the firm, known as MMP Architects, is focused on delivering aesthetically delightful projects through a unique, flexible service delivery model.
The Niverville Heritage Centre began as a vision for the ever growing rural community of Niverville Manitoba. Through the hard fund raising work of Heritage Holding Inc., the Heritage Centre is one of the premier facilities in Southern Manitoba and a landmark example of the continuing, growing development of Manitoba’s rural communities. Phase I of the new Heritage Centre consists of 16,000 square-feet of primary medical clinic renovation. Phase II of the new Heritage Centre includes the addition of a 36-suite assisted/supportive housing block for the town’s elderly.
