Levelton Consultants Ltd. provides environmental, materials and geotechnical engineering services for development of new projects, and the operation and maintenance of existing industrial plants and infrastructure.

Environmental services are provided for air quality, water quality, contaminated soils, pollution prevention and energy systems. Levelton Consultants has developed expertise to assist industry with the reduction of emissions via pollution prevention and add-on controls systems. Also, projects have been completed for government agencies to formulate air quality management plans, to investigate alternatives to traditional regulatory approaches, and to prepare emission inventories and forecasts.
Projects have been completed for industry and developers to assess the environmental impacts of proposed industrial plants and transportation networks, and to remediate contaminated land.
Advanced services are provided for coal and oil fired boilers to reduce emissions of NOx and greenhouse gases and to improve boiler output and efficiency through combustion modification and performance tuning techniques.

Environmental impact assessments for development of natural resources. Levelton has completed environmental impact assessments for a wide range of industrial facilities, such as natural gas plants and associated pipelines, petroleum processing plants, compressor stations, power plants and coal mines. In addition, Levelton has extensive experience with assessing the impacts of transporation infrastructure, such as highways, bridges and port facilities, on air quality and the environment. The scope of work typically includes air and water quality impacts, biophysical impacts and cumulative impacts.
Levelton assists the design engineers to develop an environmentally sustainable project.

Preparation of air quality management plans for urban areas where air quality is deteriorating as a result of growth in population and industrialization. Levelton has unique experience with analysis of existing emissions, forecasts of emission growth, control strategies, pollution prevention strategies, air quality monitoring programs, market-based control strategies and other relevant aspects of air quality planning programs.

Complete services for measurement of emissions from industrial sources. Levelton provides: stack sampling services and can mobilize equipment for test programs overseas; EPA classroom courses and practical training for stack sampling; opacity reading and calibration and manufactured components for sampling equipment.

Remediation of soils contaminated with petroleum products using advanced bioremediation and composting technologies.

Baseline studies and reviews to characterize existing air quality, water quality and soils. These projects are typically needed prior to an industrial development or for use by regulatory agencies or financial institutions. Levelton provides full field sampling and analytical capabilities.

Alternative technologies for conversion of waste flyash from power plants into usable construction aggregate, or for addition to cement.

Levelton is interested in selling its services overseas and is giving priority to projects in Malaysia. The firm has established a joint venture arrangement with an environmental companty in Malaysia and is working to develop environmental projects. Levelton has completed large studies for APEC on options to reduce emissions from the transportation sector and from power generation facilities in all APEC economies by use of improved and alternative fuels and technologies. This work has provided the firm with a good knowledge of existing environmental issues and means to reduce environmental impacts of future development, in addition to business contacts.
Levelton is interested in environment and alternative energy projects in Malaysia, China and other countries in Southeast
