TAG Canada was founded in 1995 at Levis, Quebec by Mr. Gilles Tardif, who had been at the time involved for over ten years in providing fare collection equipment solutions for a local transit agency. The agency needed not only parts for their fareboxes of discontinued brands but also improvements to their fare collection system to ensure it was safer and more efficient. The access to their products and operations allowed Mr. Tardif and his team to acquire the necessary experience to develop and start putting out on the market his own line of products and solutions.
