Lachine Paper Company was founded in 1950 by a young tool designer, René Derail, who enjoyed the challenge of building machinery that could generate high quality products. While his first equipment was designed to create butterchips, he quickly saw the need to build machinery that delivered premium quality disposable products, specifically, placemats, traycovers and doilies. When René began his company it was based in the town of Lachine but in 1970, as his business grew, he invested in land in Ville Ste-Catherine and built, what is now, our corporate headquarters.
