A London business has stepped up to aid the battle against breast cancer. Lanier Healthcare Canada has donated $30,000 to support diagnostic imaging at St. Joseph's Health Care London. The donation is to support the breast imaging program, including screening mammography, diagnostic mammography breast imaging and ultra-sound guided biopsies, to name a few applications. "The early detection of breast cancer is so important to the quality of a person's life, that the decision for Lanier Healthcare Canada to donate was an easy one," said Jan Wise, CEO at Lanier. Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women. This year an estimated 21,600 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and about 5,300 will die as a result. Lanier, in the business for more than 30 years, provides dictation and transcription services and has worked with local hospitals for over 20 years.
