Description
Léandre Desjardins is a retired professor of social psychology. His academic career spans 31 years, the last 17 years of which as an administrator. Today he is Professor Emeritus of psychology. His research and development activities in the health field include studies and development projects on the impact of unemployment in mental health, mental health in the workplace and health services for the francophone population in New Brunswick. He has also worked in the field of the social and human impacts of large development projects such as the establishment of a 2 nd nuclear reactor at Point Lepreau, on public consultation projects for the development of environmental legislation and for the environmental impact of several mining projects in New Brunswick. As a university administrator, he has served as Dean and Academic Vice-President before his retirement and, since his retirement, has been the Interim CEO of the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission, the General Director of the New Brunswick Post-Secondary Education Commission and Interim Academic Vice-President at Cape Breton University.
