Description

KFL has been the exclusive air cargo carrier for Purolator Courier (PCL) for over 20 years. KFL owns the night sky with a fleet of Boeing 727’s and Convair 580’s, providing the capability of moving approximately 500,000 lbs. of freight nightly. In 2008, in conjunction with PCL, KF began support operations for Canada Post with the purchase and operation of the two largest dedicated freighters in Canada (DC10-30F). In addition, KFL provides executive jet service.

Our web, email and database servers are hosted in a highly secure, state-of-the-art data center with the latest in firewall protection. Our servers always have the latest security updates from the manufacturers. Power to our servers is supplied from two separate power substations and we are serviced by fiber optic data feeds from 2 separate carriers with geographically diverse routes (2 feeds from different nodes, using different paths). Data is backed up on a nightly basis.

We also provide Simulator training for both Boeing 727 and Convair 580/5800. KF is proud to be the first private company to receive Transport Canada approval for in-house schooling to become a licensed Structures Repair Technician.

Barry displayed his entrepreneurial spirit and began the dream to own and operate his own company. Barry moved to the Okanagan Valley in 1969 and founded Kelowna Flightcraft in 1970. He identified that there was a niche market opportunity in the Okanagan for an aircraft maintenance company. The company initially performed inspection checks, maintenance and other various tasks on assorted small aircraft throughout the Okanagan from the back of a truck. Over the years this expanded to courier and charter services.
