Description

The James Bay Walleye Fishing Tournament was founded in 1999 by residents of Chapais that wanted to organize a mega fishing tournament in their town. Tourism is an important attribute for the local economy which is based on natural resources exploitation.
The festival is also a source of entertainement and gathering in the community since fishing is the most popular summer activity in the James Bay region.
