JCMB Technology Inc...providing software solutions for the electric, gas and water utility marketplace. JCMB also specializes in providing data conversion services for these utility companies... particularly as it applies to their distribution network.

Our industry's unique requirements:

Electric distribution network maps contain information used by many departments within an Electric Utility company.

Construction and Maintenance require these maps as the source of information for new construction, maintenance planning and location information. Planning requires these maps for load calculation and distribution substation planning and Operations requires the map information for device location and outage trouble shooting and temporary load switching.

When a decision is made to invest in an Automated Mapping System or a Geographic Information System (GIS), a unified mapping system is built, and it is expected to serve the needs of all users. It is therefore essential that the conversion process capture the data and functional requirements of all department if the project is to be successful.

Founded in 1995 and dedicated to serving Electric Utilities,
JCMB has extensive experience in implementing Outage Management and
Mobile Computing Systems. We have come to realize that non-specialized data conversion houses tend to focus their efforts on the visual aspect of the map produced and frequently not capture all of the electrical information required by an electric utility user. Construction and Maintenance tend to stress label accuracy and location, whereas Operations are far more concerned with the connectivity between devices, their current state and proper operating procedures.

The JCMB Electric Utility conversion team has experience with manual map conversion, Automated Mapping/Geographic Information
System data preparation, and has recently successfully performed quality assurance on previously converted data, checking for proper connectivity and device operation. We are proud to include amongst our growing list of customers; Kansas City Power
& Light Co., Nevada Power Company, Northeast Utilities System, and San Diego Gas & Electric Co.. In addition, our staff have previous experience performing data conversion and preparation for Edison International, Commonwealth Edison, NIPSCO, Allegheny
Power and Midlands Electricity Board in the U.K.. We have dealt with every conceivable circuit configuration and paper map condition found in an electric environment.

As a company, JCMB is technically independent therefore we are committed to our customers needs and their technical environments. This results in our having extensive experience with; ABB, Ascada/Harris, AutoCAD, Configured Energy Systems
(CES), Gentry Systems, Geomax, Intergraph and M3i Systems. JCMB also has its own technical support staff and take responsibility for the system knowledge required to support the data conversion production.

Automated Mapping Platform. Functionality is focused on the electrical connectivity of the distribution network including designed and as-built states, and switched configuration. ADELE is part of the Autodesk GIS product line which provides equivalent functionality at one third of the price.
