About

Invermere Fire/Rescue, a composite department of career and paid-on-call firefighters, serves the Invermere community of 3,400 full-time residents and many part-time visitors. Established in 1810 as a trading post, Invermere is now a popular resort area known for outdoor activities, golf courses, and lake recreation. The department provides fire protection, vehicle extrication, confined space rescue, over-the-bank rescue, highway rescue, public education, and environmental protection. With 27 volunteers on a paid-on-call basis and led by Fire Chief Jason Roe, the service aims to be effective, efficient, and fiscally responsible, responding to emergencies and preventing fires to safeguard lives and property.
