Inter-Leather was founded in 1984 by Guy Launay and his wife, Alice, to supply quality leathers to the Canadian footwear and garment industry. Guy very quickly recognized the market for high-end furniture and automotive leathers and established contacts with quality suppliers and customers to satisfy this demand. When Guy decided to retire in 1993, the company was bought by William and Celeste Corless. William was the Sales Manager for the company and Celeste is a Chartered Accountant. Their philosophy continues in the same vein, the prompt supply of quality products to discerning customers, with service for customers being the cornerstone of the business. To better serve the needs of our present and future customers, we opened a warehouse in the autumn of 1997 and have just moved into larger premises to house our ever-increasing product line. While the bulk of the business is done through the warehouse, Inter-Leather are agents for a number of offshore tanneries who supply bulk to the larger manufacturers. Here again SERVICE is the key to our business. Inter-Leather continues to grow, combining the conservative approach that has stood the company in such good stead with a design and fashion focus which keeps the company on "the cutting edge".
