Joel graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec with a Masters in Science of Physical Therapy. Prior to graduating, Joel spent time working with young adults and infants with developmental disabilities and complex health needs. He has an enormous passion for sports, music, and community.

Yes. Innovation Physical Therapy – Riverbend is pleased to provide computer generated gait scans and orthotics through The Orthotic Group. Jolene Spychka is our gait analysis and orthotics specialist at our Riverbend location. By request and appointment only, Jolene is also available to provide these services to our University and Belvedere locations.

Aaron graduated from the University of Alberta with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Prior to completing his Physical Therapy Degree, he acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with Honors from Memorial University in his hometown of St. John's, Newfoundland. He is progressing through the Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic and Manual Manipulative Physiotherapy offered through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, and has completed the Level 1 component, and is currently in the process of completing the Level 2 component.

No. Unfortunately, Alberta Health Care has not funded Physical Therapy since 1995. However, Innovation Physical Therapy is pleased to provide you with an Alberta Health Services funded assessment for general Physical Therapy. Please note this provision is for one assessment per treatment site per year (April 1 – March 31 the following year). Following your assessment, your Physical Therapist will inform you as to whether you qualify for a maximum of two (2) additional sessions based on the Determination of Need (DON) form.

In October 2004 the Government of Alberta legislated the Diagnostic and Treatment Protocols (DTP). If you choose to be treated within the DTP, your sessions will be billed directly to your motor vehicle insurance company. You will need to provide our office with the necessary insurance information so that we may set up direct billing with your insurance company. Following your assessment, your Physical Therapist will inform you as to whether you will have ten (10) or twenty one (21) sessions that have been preauthorized by your insurance company as outlined by the DTP.
