About

InMotion Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to removing barriers for women and girls in sport, recreation, and physical activity across Alberta. It provides support programs, resources, and funding to empower girls and women as participants, leaders, coaches, and officials. The organization emphasizes intersectionality, addressing how gender intersects with race, class, sexual orientation, disability, religion, age, and other identity markers to create unique forms of exclusion. Through initiatives like Go Girl, Girls In Motion, Women in Motion, and Take the Lead, InMotion Network funds and collaborates on projects that promote safe, inclusive, and accessible sports environments. Recent projects include an accessible hockey program, safety initiatives in sport, cheer and movement programs, volleyball training, AfroDance programs, and community league soccer, all aimed at increasing female participation and leadership in physical activities.
