The British Columbia Injury Prevention Centre leads the way in B.C. promoting injury-free survival strategies in high-risk environments including sport and recreational activities, and travel on the road. We have highly qualified Professional Athletes who motivate Students in BC Schools to learn how to recognize and assess their abilities to stay injury-free in any environment and to understand the importance of risk management. We have an innovative, flash web site that receives a high volume of traffic with one million hits a month and features free flash games, video wipeouts of mountain bikers, snowboarders and skaters, "The Spirit To Survive" School Program, our World-Class Presenters and TV Ads. The BC Injury Prevention Centre launched its' vision of injury-free living programs in Elementary and Secondary Schools in the Spring of 1989 in Vancouver reaching ten thousand Students. Fast forward to 2007, our injury prevention programs have expanded to several new media platforms including our Web Site, the Intranet including You Tube and Google, and Television Advertising reaching hundreds of thousands Students at home and abroad. The BC Injury Prevention Centre's lifesaving injury prevention program, "The Spirit To Survive", introduces Students to 4-Key Survival Skills that incorporates a conceptual approach to injury-free living.
