Description

The Software Human Resource Council (SHRC) is a national voice for the software industry and software professionals throughout the Canadian economy. Established in 1992, SHRC has quickly assumed its role of addressing many of the issues that are affecting human resources in the software industry. SHRC acts as a primary change agent for the software industry. The key mandates of SHRC are to bring business, industry, educators, employees and government together to: maximize the supply and quality of new entrants into the software workforce; improve the skill levels of those already in the industry; track changes in the supply and demand for software workers and skills; integrate the educational training continuum; improve the definition and image of software workers in order to attract new entrants to the field; and promote occupational skills profiles which assist the
Canadian software industry to effectively compete in the international marketplace.
