Hunter McCorquodale was established in 1996 for the purpose of offering unique niche disability and life insurance products for needs that cannot be satisfied in the regular market. Traditional insurers want to offer shelf products that can be sold in significant volumes, with large potential markets. The result is that many consumers and businesses that have significant insurance needs, and the ability to pay, cannot obtain insurance in the regular market because they do not fit the risk parameters for which traditional products are designed and priced. We believe that most of these needs can in fact be met, through innovative product designs and underwriting approaches, and appropriate pricing. The key to our approach is to locate organizations around the world that have developed expertise in insuring a specific type of risk and, through alliances with Canadian insurers and reinsurers, to import their products and expertise to Canada. Our bottom line is that "we can help you help your hard to insure clients". We want Hunter McCorquodale to be the first organization you think of calling when you are unable to find a satisfactory solution to a client need in the regular market.
