In order to understand the present Howard's Marine of Rockport Ltd and the integrity with which we run our business, you need to know the history behind the company. Howard Huck who founded the marina, originally worked with his father, Fred Huck and brother, Ed, in the family business that is presently known as Ed Huck Marine. After a rift that seen Howard and his family at odds, Howard went to work as chief mechanic for Gananoque Boatline and before that at Jackson's Engineering in Kingston. Upon the death of his father, Fred in 1952, Howard returned to Rockport to set up his own marina, Howard's Marine, located next to his brother Ed's marina. With the ever present assistance of his wife, Marion, they worked long hours and made a name for themselves with their honesty and hard work ethic. Of their three children, Arthur and Ronald became an intricate part of the marina over the years and became partners with the passing of Howard in 1983. Paul Huck, son of Arthur, worked along side his grandfather, Howard, from the time he was eight years old. His grandfather would turn over an egg crate so he would be tall enough to reach the work bench and he taught him all he knew about the workings of an engine. Paul took his mechanic's license in 1975 and became certified that same year. He has worked at the marina since, carrying on the family tradition of hard work and mechanical expertise...
