Hotson Bakker Boniface Haden Architects offers a wide range of services to both public and private sector clients in the fields of architecture, planning, urban design, and interior design. Norman Hotson, founding partner, first established the practice in November of 1973 with a focus on urban design. In 1977, Joost Bakker joined the firm to co-author the internationally renowned redevelopment of Granville Island in Vancouver. Hotson Bakker Architects, a partnership of corporations, was formalized on July 1, 1985. On July 1, 2001, Bruce Haden and Alan Boniface joined the firm as new partners expanding the diversity and capacity of the practice. Today, the firm is a corporation of four partners and practices under the name of Hotson Bakker Boniface Haden Architects + Urbanistes.
