Hold-On Industries Incorporated is a rural based enterprise that has focused much of its production creating a variety of mainly plastic products for both recreational and agricultural markets. Its created and owned by Floyd McMartin who was born on a family farm near Elfros and modestly declares himself just a typical farm boy who worked hard and got lucky. Armed with a pressure welding ticket, McMartin left the farm scene when was a young man but never really forgot his roots or the important role agriculture plays in the farm economy. In the mid-'70s, he began working as a marketing manager for a Saskatchewan farm implement manufacturer, but left after about four years to set up his own implement sales operation in Aberdeen. Besides selling farm machinery made by other producers, McMartin also began designing and manufacturing his own products. He started up production by making a three-point hitch and then a three-in-one potato planter, hiller and digger, both which we still make. They have been very successful and you can find our potato digger working in fields from New Brunswick to California. McMartin then designed and built his own plastic ovens and molds to create an affordable good quality line of water tanks.
