Description

Hermont is the only authorized company with trained and qualified technicians to perform calibrations on Deckma bilge alarms in Canada. Hermont is also equipped with a manufacturer approved calibration test bench and calibration measuring cell provided by Deckma. Hermont has full service capabilities for all DECKMA Bilge Alarms. For all DECKMA Bilge Alarms we carry the necessary spare parts to provide short turn-around times for defective meters. The MEPC.107 (49) Bilge Alarm can only be opened up by the manufacturer.

Environmental stewardship is an important responsibility; Hermont has over 25 years of experience in bilge treatment. Our team knows the regulations; we have the experience to create customized bilge treatment solutions for fleets and their individual ships.

MARPOL MEPC.107 (49): 4.2.11 The accuracy of the 15 ppm Bilge Alarms should be checked at IOPP Certificate renewal surveys according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Alternatively the unit may be replaced by a calibrated 15 ppm Bilge Alarm. The calibration certificate for the 15 ppm Bilge Alarm, certifying date of last calibration check, should be retained onboard for inspection purposes. The accuracy checks can only be done by the manufacturer or persons authorized by the manufacturer.

After reaching agreement, both parties were clearly satisfied with the excellent collaboration and result. “Ballast water treatment is a tough financial pill for ship owners to swallow, a lot of money invested with no return other than environmental compliance. We have invested significant time and expertise to research repeatedly what our best option would be. Not just in cost, but reliability, efficacy and quality too.

DECKMA is a global leader in bilge effluent monitoring. DECKMA was one of the first manufacturers to receive IMO resolution MEPC.107(49) approval for their OMD-2005 Bilge Alarm. Today DECKMA supplies to Bilge Separator manufacturers the newer version OMD-24, and for retrofitting of existing installations the OMD-24 and 2008. All systems are MEPC.107(49) approved and they are Transport Canada certified for the 5ppm Canadian inland water requirements.
