Conversations with local secondary schools indicate that our students are well prepared to continue at the secondary level with the same degree of success they enjoyed at the elementary level. Language Arts: The 4 Blocks Language is one of the most precious gifts God has given us. It allows us to think, imagine , express our thoughts and feelings, and to learn about and share the wonders of His creation. We use language to build Christian community and to respond to our heavenly Father in prayer and praise. Language involves listening, reading, writing and speaking. God has made each student unique. We want to use a method of teaching that allows each student to achieve success at their own pace and in their own style of learning. At HCS we use the 4 Block Method of instruction in our primary Language Arts Program. The 4 blocks are: Guided Reading: This block focuses on the reading comprehension skills and on reading fluency. Self Selected Reading: This block focuses on the child reading at their own instructional level. It builds enjoyment of reading and exposes them to all types of literature.

We provide care for the following age groups: Toddlers 18-30 months, 30-48 months, and children over 48 months old. Subsidies are available.

Academic Excellence - We provide academic excellence, meeting provincial standards through supportive and professionally certified teachers. Our students are prepared physically, academically and spiritually to be lifelong learners.
