Eric Girouard has worn many hats in the last twenty years: a photographer, a painter, a graphic designer, a teacher. The rapidly changing definition of what it means to be a photographer also recently turned him into a web designer as well. He first picked up an SLR camera at age sixteen with the intention of documenting his crossing of the Canadian Rockies. See this image. Two things are important to Eric when he takes a photograph: sharp detail is sought after with an almost large format technique: tripod mounted exposures, small apertures - and time waiting for the wind to quiet. Colour is discovered and composed, circled on the calendar and expected. It is captured with the rich palette of slow slide films, helped along with a good dose of color correction. Eric offers photo workshops, and especially nature photography seminars using Adobe Photoshop as the digital darkroom of choice.
