Passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the age of 84 at Henley Place in London, Ontario after a valiant struggle with Alzheimer’s. Don leaves behind his wife Mary, married almost 60 years. Proud father of Virginia MacKinnon (Ron), Veronica Sferrazza (Sab), Paul (Rebecca), Mark (Bernie), James (Gail), Andrew (Ramona), Brian (Lisa), Matthew (Renee), Vanessa Cullen (Eoin), Victoria, Patrick, and Luke (Natalie). Loving grandfather to Jennifer, Tony, Alex, Michaela, Jeremy, Tovah (Brandon), Isaiah (Kate), Kate (Riley), Allie, Sam, Melissa (Joan-Daniel), David, Kathleen, Joshua, Ryan, Dani, Sami, Nora, Evelyn, Grace, Ciaran, Nieve, Marcus, Kiewan, Shavon, Rushton, Rowynn, Addison and Talia. Much loved great-grandfather of Damian. Son of the late Robert and the late Kathleen. Brother of the late Neville and sister Gloria Rose in England. Also remembered by a niece and 5 nephews. Don and Mary spent 40 years in Sault Ste. Marie raising their 12 children before relocating to Ilderton, ON. Don is known for over 50 years of involvement with the Barbershoppers and was an ordained deacon with the Roman Catholic Diocese of SSM.

At home, on his farm, on Friday, June 27, 2014, of R.R.#1 Ilderton in his 69th year. Beloved husband of Mary (Howe) Loft. Dear father of Scott and Lisa Loft of Ilderton, Mark and Julia Loft of Arva, Kim and Brad Fletcher of Lobo Twp., and Lisa and TJ Benoit of Appin. Cherished grandfather of Hailey, Natalie and Matthew; Lauren and Will; and Jackson and Tyler. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Carol and Dennis Adlington of Ilderton, Keith and Liz Loft of Ilderton, Jim and Sue Howe of Strathroy, and Linda and Steve Mekker of London. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Ron was actively involved in the community; as a Lions member for over 30 years and serving on municipal council. He had a passion for farming and his favourite pastime was entertaining his grandchildren. A special thank you to those who provided care and support throughout the years. Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1st at 11 AM with Rev. Barbara Clark officiating. Interment Littlewood Cemetery. There will be a Lions service in the funeral home on Monday evening at 6:00 p.m.
